Gir farm landscape

Our Story

Born in the Heart of Gir

We started Gir Store with one simple belief — that the food you eat should be as pure as the land it comes from. No shortcuts. No compromises.

Farmer in the field

How It Began

From a Single Farm to Your Doorstep

It began in 2019 when our founder, Arjun Solanki, returned to his ancestral village near Sasan Gir after a decade in the city. What he found was a community of small farmers producing extraordinary food — A2 milk from indigenous Gir cows, hand-churned makhan, Bilona ghee, and GI-tagged Kesar mangoes — but struggling to reach customers who truly valued it.

Gir Store was built to bridge that gap. We work directly with a network of 40+ small and marginal farmers across Junagadh, Amreli, and the Gir forest belt. No middlemen. No cold-chain compromises. Just honest food, delivered fresh.

Today we serve thousands of families across Gujarat who refuse to settle for processed, adulterated, or artificially ripened food. Every order placed with us is a vote for the farmer, the cow, and the land.

Our Purity Promise

What We Stand For

No Preservatives, Ever

Every product leaves our farm the same day it is made or harvested. We do not use any artificial preservatives, colours, or flavour enhancers.

A2 Milk Only

Our dairy products come exclusively from indigenous Gir cows. A2 beta-casein protein is easier to digest and richer in nutrients than the A1 milk found in commercial dairy.

Traditional Methods

Ghee is made by the Bilona method. Makhan is hand-churned each morning. Curd is set overnight in clay pots. We honour the methods that have worked for centuries.

Direct from Farmers

We pay our farmers a fair price — 30–40% above market rate — because good food starts with farmers who are valued and supported.

How We Pack

Packaging That Respects the Product — and the Planet

Pure food deserves packaging that doesn't undo the work of the farm. Every material we use is chosen to keep your order fresh, safe, and as close to zero-waste as possible.

No Single-Use Plastic

We have eliminated single-use plastic from all our packaging. Dairy products are sealed in food-grade glass jars or BPA-free HDPE containers. Fruits and coconuts travel in recycled kraft paper and jute mesh bags.

Tamper-Evident Seals

Every jar and bottle carries an induction-sealed, tamper-evident cap. If the seal is broken when your order arrives, we replace it — no questions asked.

Cold-Chain Insulation

Dairy orders are packed with food-safe gel ice packs inside insulated jute-lined boxes. This keeps products at 4–8°C from our farm to your door, even in peak Gujarat summer.

Returnable Glass Jars

Our ghee and makhan come in reusable glass jars. Return them on your next delivery and we'll credit ₹20 per jar to your account. Over 60% of our jars complete at least three cycles.

Honest Labelling

Every label shows the farm name, harvest or production date, batch number, and a plain-language ingredient list. No marketing jargon, no hidden additives — just the facts.

Minimal, Recyclable Outer Box

Our outer delivery boxes are made from 80% recycled corrugated cardboard and are fully recyclable. We print with soy-based inks and use water-activated paper tape — no plastic tape.
