Question 1

What is Bilona Ghee?

Accepted Answer

Bilona Ghee is made using the ancient Bilona (hand-churning) method. Milk from indigenous Gir cows is first set into curd, then hand-churned to extract makhan (white butter), which is slow-cooked over a wood fire to produce pure A2 ghee. This traditional process preserves natural nutrients, vitamins A, D, E and K, and gives the ghee its characteristic golden colour and rich aroma — unlike commercial ghee made by direct cream separation.

Question 2

Why is A2 Gir Cow Milk better than regular milk?

Accepted Answer

A2 milk from indigenous Gir cows contains only the A2 beta-casein protein, which is easier to digest and does not trigger the inflammatory response associated with A1 protein found in most commercial dairy breeds. Gir cows are a native Indian breed (Bos indicus) with a natural hump that activates the Surya Ketu Nadi, enriching the milk with gold salts and vital nutrients. Our Gir cow milk is collected fresh each morning and delivered the same day with no homogenisation or additives.

Question 3

What are the health benefits of raw, natural dairy from Gir cows?

Accepted Answer

Gir cow dairy products are rich in A2 beta-casein protein, Omega-3 fatty acids, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), vitamins A, D, B12, and minerals like calcium and phosphorus. Regular consumption is associated with improved digestion, stronger immunity, better bone health, and reduced inflammation. Our products contain no synthetic hormones, antibiotics, or preservatives — just pure, natural dairy as nature intended.

Question 4

How is your Gir Cow Ghee made?

Accepted Answer

Our ghee follows the five-step Bilona process: (1) Fresh A2 milk is collected from free-grazing Gir cows each morning. (2) The milk is boiled and cooled to set into curd overnight. (3) The curd is hand-churned using a wooden bilona to separate makhan (white butter). (4) The makhan is slow-cooked over a wood fire until the milk solids separate and settle. (5) The pure golden ghee is filtered and bottled in glass jars. The entire process takes 48–72 hours per batch and yields roughly 1 litre of ghee from 25–30 litres of milk.

Question 5

Is your dairy certified organic?

Accepted Answer

Our Gir cows graze freely on natural pastures in the Gir forest region of Gujarat and are never given synthetic hormones, antibiotics, or GMO feed. While we follow fully organic and natural farming practices, formal organic certification is an ongoing process. Every product is tested for purity before dispatch. We believe transparency matters more than labels — you are welcome to visit our partner farms in Junagadh district.
