Milk from indigenous Gir cows is first set into curd, then hand-churned to extract makhan (white butter), which is slow-cooked over a wood fire to produce pure A2 ghee. How is your Gir Cow Ghee made?

Our ghee follows the five-step Bilona process: (1) Fresh A2 milk is collected from free-grazing Gir cows each morning. (2) The milk is boiled and cooled to set into curd overnight. (3) The curd is hand-churned using a wooden bilona to separate makhan (white butter). (4) The makhan is slow-cooked over a wood fire until the milk solids separate and settle. (5) The pure golden ghee is filtered and bottled in glass jars. The entire process takes 48–72 hours per batch and yields roughly 1 litre of ghee from 25–30 litres of milk.

Our Gir cows graze freely on natural pastures in the Gir forest region of Gujarat and are never given synthetic hormones, antibiotics, or GMO feed. While we follow fully organic and natural farming practices, formal organic certification is an ongoing process. Every product is tested for purity before dispatch.
